The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority, Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, is participating in the 18th Sectoral Council of Ministers meeting of the East African Community in Arusha, where regional leaders are convening to advance economic and financial cooperation.

The session has drawn ministers and technical experts from across EAC partner states to review progress and align priorities aimed at strengthening economic integration. Central to the discussions are efforts to enhance fiscal coordination, improve public financial management, and expand access to financial services across the region.

Delegates are also assessing practical approaches to stimulate cross-border trade and attract investment, with particular emphasis on modernising revenue systems and boosting institutional efficiency. Improving the business climate to support private sector growth and regional competitiveness remains a key focus.

The meeting highlights the need for closer collaboration among partner states to navigate emerging economic challenges and sustain inclusive growth, with a shared commitment to delivering tangible benefits for citizens across the East African region.
