The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Yusuph Juma Mwenda, has said that the Authority expects citizens to continue demonstrating integrity and voluntarily fulfilling their tax obligations, emphasizing that tax payment should be regarded as part of worship.

Speaking during an Iftar event organized by TRA on March 13, 2026, Commissioner General Mwenda noted that through the Authority’s ongoing efforts to encourage compliance with tax laws, he is confident that taxpayers will continue to uphold integrity and voluntarily meet their tax responsibilities.

“Our expectation is that through our continuous efforts to encourage adherence to the law, people will continue to demonstrate integrity and voluntarily fulfill their tax obligations, considering tax payment as part of worship,” said Commissioner General Mwenda.
